Acceptable Use Policy

Use only data you are entitled to use

You may import, connect or create data in the Service only if you own it or are otherwise permitted to use it for the purpose for which you are using it. You must not introduce material that infringes copyright or other intellectual-property rights, or that contains other people’s personal data without a lawful basis for processing it. You are responsible for the data you add, and for having the authority to connect any data source you connect.

Email Sprucer acts on your mailbox and on data sources you connect. You must only point it at mailboxes and data sources you are authorised to use, and you must have the authority to file, move and delete the email it will act on. Where your organisation applies retention, compliance or legal-hold obligations to a mailbox, it is your responsibility to ensure that the rules and runs you configure are compatible with them.

Prohibited conduct

When using the Service, you must not:

• break any applicable law or regulation, or encourage others to do so;
• store, process or share content that is unlawful, infringing, harmful, hateful, harassing or otherwise inappropriate;
• introduce malware, or content designed to disrupt, damage or gain unauthorised access to any system or data;
• attempt to probe, scan, breach or circumvent the security, authentication, licensing or access controls of the Service, or access another customer’s data;
• interfere with or disrupt the Service, its infrastructure, or other users’ use of it (for example through excessive automated requests);
• use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Service, except as we expressly permit;
• reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software except as permitted by law or the EULA;
• resell, redistribute or commercially exploit the Service, or use it to build a competing product;
• impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation; or
• use the Service to monitor, profile or handle another person’s communications or personal data in a way that is unlawful or without appropriate authority.

You must also not use Email Sprucer to send unsolicited mail, to harvest contact details for marketing you have no lawful basis to send, or to read, file or extract data from another person’s mailbox without their knowledge and the authority to do so.

Reporting misuse

If you become aware of content or conduct that breaches this AUP, or of a security concern, please tell us at [email protected] so we can look into it. Please report suspected security vulnerabilities to that address rather than disclosing them publicly, and give us a reasonable opportunity to fix them.

Consequences of breach

If you breach this AUP, we may remove offending content, and suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice depending on the severity. We may also take steps required by law and cooperate with authorities where appropriate. Our rights are described more fully in the Terms of Use.

Changes

We may change this AUP from time to time. We reserve the right to update it at any time. When we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to notify you before it takes effect — for example by posting a notice in the app, updating the effective date above, and/or emailing the address associated with your account. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated AUP.
